“DREAMGIRLS”

March 28 - April 13, 2025

Book and Lyrics by Tom Eyen, Music by Henry Krieger

Main Stage Theatre

Dreamgirls is a Tony Award-winning stage musical chronicling the meteoric rise of The Dreams, an African American female singing trio, in the turbulent music industry of the 1960s and 1970s. Led by the powerhouse vocals of Effie White, the group faces trials and triumphs as they navigate the complexities of fame, love, and betrayal under the management of the ambitious Curtis Taylor Jr. Tensions escalate within the group as Curtis manipulates their path to success, leading to a dramatic showdown that tests their bonds of friendship and resilience.

Appropriate for ages 10 and above

You’ll Fit Right in Here!

Welcome to YOUR theatre, the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. From the volunteer taking tickets at the Box Office to the proud parent watching a shy child blossom on stage, this is right where you belong.

There are many ways to support our mission. Each of us has a role to play, whether you want to shine on stage, help behind the scenes, contribute financially, or simply sit back and enjoy what we create.

“Summer Academy”

Each year, Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s Summer Academy teaches young people (rising first through twelfth grade) about the art of acting, creating a character, technical theatre, dance, and more!

Spend your summer with us in one of our one, two, or three week sessions starting June 3rd and running till August 2nd, 2024.

  • "The Theatre Centre has had a profound positive impact on my family. These past 17 years have seen my daughter, Annie, grow up in the Youth Theatre, my wife, Jackie, painting a set piece or two, and allowed me some time on the stage as well. We would not be the family we are without the CTC."
